The 29th IEK International Convention

The Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) in collaboration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is organizing the 29th IEK International Convention, the 5th Women Engineers Summit, the 1^st Future leaders’ Summit, and Exhibition and a Male Engineers Summit to be held in Diani Reef, South Coast from 21^st to 25^th November 2022.

The Convention is a prestigious event organized to provide an international platform for engineers, academicians, scientists, researchers, industrial participants, engineering student, and other professionals to network, and share experiences, challenges, and new knowledge on emerging technologies and engineering-related topics.

The convention will include, technical excursions, paper and poster presentations, panel discussions, and keynote speakers from industry, academia, researchers, and policymakers and exhibitions. A large industry exhibition will be held in parallel to the paper presentations.

The Convention main convention theme will be “Sustainable Engineering in the Era of Climate Change”, addressing topics related to the following:

• Building resilience infrastructure.
• Harnessing emerging technologies.
• Innovation.
• Mitigation measures against climate change.
• Climate adaption.
• Climate change Impact & Engineering.
• Artificial intelligence.
• Energy transition.
• Role of Nuclear and Renewable Energy in Combating  climate change.
• Role of Green Financing and Green Economy.

Other three events to be held as parallel activities are:

• the 5^th Women Engineers Summit entitled “360° Women Engineers: A Catalyst for Change" from 21^st to 22^nd November,2022.
• the 1st Future Leaders Summit entitled “ Back to Basics” on 21^st November,2022 and Exhibition.
• The Men Engineers Summit  entitled “Reinvention towards a sustainable future” from 21^st to 22^nd November, 2022.
