Eng. Alfonso Gonzalez has been appointed President Elect on June 30th, 2014. He will take over the presidency of the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE) during its 10th General Assembly to be held in 2015. Mr. Gonzalez, a worldwide recognized engineering professional from Mexico will serve a three year term for the period 2016-2019. Alfonso Gonzalez suceeds TomΓ‘s Sancho, Spanish engineer.
He currently holds the Presidency of FederaciΓ³n de Colegios de IngenierΓa Civil de la RepΓΊblica Mexicana, the Mexican civil engineering professional organization. His areas of expertise are construction management, and land development. Civil Engineer (1985). Born in MΓ©rida (Mexico), age 53 years, holds a brilliant academic record, culminating in his Civil Engineering studies in Yucatan University.

Currently, he is CEO of Alpro Ingenieria Consulting services.Β Regarded as an expert in land development and management matters, he has an in-depth working knowledge of company and administrative problem, having demonstrated his ability to coordinate stakeholders' interests (regional and local government administration, users, etc.).
He was named βEngineer of the Yearβ in the year 2009, by the YucatΓ‘n Civil Engineering professional Association.
He has taken part in many Conferences and Symposia, both Mexican and international, and has also published numerous books and technical articles.
